Tertia is the owner and interior designer of Mackenzie Interiors by Tertia. She literally travelled from Cape to Cairo and beyond as she has lived in eight different countries across the globe – Egypt included! Her years abroad exposed her to new cultures, languages, and architecture.  Tertia brings her experiences from abroad and her nostalgic memories from home to the table when she is designing and creating, which makes her designs one of a kind. What started as a hobby turned into a fully-fledged interior design business after she completed her qualification at the Interior Design Institute.

Tertia find her design inspiration in simplicity – from the warm colours of autumn to the deep, tranquil colours of the ocean. Tertia’s memories of her time abroad also serve as a well of inspiration. The unexpected brightly painted door in a modest neighbourhood in the Middle East; the impressive structure and fine detail of an ancient palace in Turkey; an overgrown pink Bougainvillea in a tiny alley in France; the colour and texture of cobblestones in ancient towns …
